It’s ORWELL’S 1984 come to life… he depicted this time so vividly in his novel. And with deep sadness, I recognize that we are in it for real. How and why this monstrous admin is allowed to continue their hitleristic nazi movement is beyond me. This is our America, which immigrants built. This is our America that states, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Words…words…words that speak volumes, words that Stand For Our Past, Our Present, Our Future as a Nation. Words that carry deep meaning in the establishment of this once great country, The United States of America, land of the free and home of the brave. We have so easily handed our nation over to the power of communism, hatred, and cruelty. People turn a blind eye. They run and pretend it will all be fine. Yet, when the gas chambers are opened and running, when people can randomly be swept off the street and thrown away, when hatred is the flavor of the day…. oh, how I weep.
To many, this feels so surreal. To some, it feels like hatred, lies, and pure evil stirred up in order to make our nation fall. Yet, when the fall occurs, as it is now, who will remain. Who will rule. Who will survive this “1984” where evil preys on us all. Please wake up and smell the flesh burning! We are just one small step away from becoming nazi germany. People denied hitler as evil for so long! Time Magazine’s Man of the year 1938… Then, just a few short years later, he became one of the cruelest monsters to ever walk the face of this earth.
We can not hide from the clear and evident danger lurking amongst us. Instead of hiding behind the curtains and covering our eyes, we must step out in faith to declare loudly and proudly, I LOVE MY COUNTRY. I LOVE THE DIVERSITY THAT MAKES OUR COUNTRY GREAT. I LOVE THE FREEDOMS AND THE RIGHTS GRANTED TO US ALL BY OUR UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION. WE WILL NOT BOW TO HATE.
If we, as a nation, do not stand together for the good of our country and our people… sadly, we, the people, will soon weep at the costs. As I look at the brutality being rained on Los Angeles, I cringe at the loss. No one, no one, no one should be allowed to just swipe people up off the streets, throw them in heinous places. No one should be beaten by masked thugs sent by our government to teach LA a lesson. No one should be treated in inhumane ways for peacefully protesting… which is, in fact, a right we are granted by our constitution. We have the right of peaceful assembly.
A few weeks ago, I stood in Central Park on the edge of John Lennon’s memorial. I stood there and wept as a nearby guitarist played and sang John’s song Imagine….
“Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin’ life in peace…”

Would that we could live life in peace…
Blessings… SKE
