I know, I know. I need to turn off the TV and radio. I need to put on an old record that soothes and pulls me back… back… far, far away from the hatred and fear infecting our country today.
Yet, here it is, just staring us in the face… A birthday parade to deflect from the horrific truth of what is occurring in the USA today. The truth is that we are now living in an era that will be remembered in the same way as WW2 and the battle against the horrific terror and oppression of Hitler. There’s also the madness within the Johnson era of government wherein police beat and jailed peaceful protesters opposing the Vietnam War. This era ensued with beatings of college students by police and an insipid hatred of the long-haired hippies peacefully demonstrating and protesting the war and the reich. I’m not done yet…
There’s more.. don’t forget, we had “tricky Dick” ~ Richard Nixon. He conned and bribed anyone and everyone… especially the American people. And… he was impeached, tossed away, disgraced! Oh, how I wish our government had the gall, the honesty to do what’s right for the American people, and toss away another obnoxious p-resident evil. But, no, they bow and pamper to him. They cater to his every whim as he daydreams of being king Louis with his dear “Marie Antoinette.” Their voices raised as they agree that we, the peasants, have no place in their lives. They laugh as Marie intones, “If they have no bread, let them eat cake.” Let the peasants starve and die, we will be ensconced in our castle and never hear them moan.
Sadly, all these characters did exist, and they caused great harm. Yet, now a new monster has risen. A monster who makes past offenders seem non-invasive. This senile monster crawls around like a very spoiled little boy whose only goal is breaking everyone’s toys. Then he has the audacity to demand that everyone must celebrate his birthday by worshipping him as he rides by in a golden carriage. His dementia filled eyes will imagine that the angry protesters are waving wildly and glorifying him. THE Donald king expects the multitude within his kingdom to applaud and greet him with joy. However, as he realizes their cries are not supportive nor joyful, he stomps, he threatens, and he pouts like a spoiled child. His blind rage intesifies as he realizes… he gave a parade, yet, NOBODY came to celebrate and admire him, sir Donald, the dump.
In a world where you can be anything, I would like to live in a world where our leader is good, true, and honest. This objective is possible as long as the leader strives to support the needs of the country, rather than acting as a selfish spoiled boy whose only objective is to get his own way. Rant over…. at least, for today. BLESSINGS, .SKE
