About

Imagination played a major role in my life, and I really can’t remember a time when I didn’t write down my thoughts, short stories, or poems. My mom was a songwriter and my dad shared stories of days gone by. I grew up in the small East Texas town of Marshall, which is very close to the Louisiana border. Back in those days, life moved a little slower, and most of my childhood was spent playing outdoors with my sisters. Back in the day, imagination was key to entertainment. There wasn’t any Wii, there was only we… my sisters and me. We were very inventive children and enjoyed many happy days wandering up and down the dirt road in front of our house, playing in the woods, and just being carefree. My early days have most definitely influenced my writing.

Today, I live in the heart of Texas with my husband, two dogs, and a cat. We’ve been blessed with the most wonderful children and grandchildren. I am an educator and a historian, as well as an author of two novels, Ghost of Johanna and Moon Dance. My writing goal is to entertain you with stories that draw you in and keep you wanting more. I want to invent characters so real that the reader feels as if they know them personally. I strive to integrate fiction with historical fact in a way that informs, yet doesn’t distract from the story line.
