Hmmm… My Biography?

If there were a biography about you, what would the title be?

Well, the first thought that comes to mind are the lyrics of a song…

“Lost and alone on some forgotten highway, traveled by many… remembered by few.”

Now, this is a bit long for a title, but it suits me. These lyrics were written by John Denver, one of my favorite singer/songwriters growing up. He often wrote songs that gave you pause to think… think about your own life, think about your goals, your dreams, your wants and needs.

Often in my life, I’ve had that feeling of being lost and alone… it depends on where you are “at” in life to understand that alone doesn’t always mean lonely. Sometimes, being lost and alone brings out one’s inner creativity. It allows you to look deeper into yourself, use your imagination, reflect on lost loves and dreams.  Also, in being alone, one can come to realize that there are many different roads to travel that may lead one to discover joy, many precious moments to celebrate life, and many moments just to take time to breathe.

I have always been a dreamer. I love writing and storytelling. However, at times, the world and all the busy-ness it brings can steal away those dreams and stifle creativity.  That’s why, somedays, I just have to go out and find myself “lost and alone on some forgotten highway, traveled by many… remembered by few.”

Searching & Pondering…

Watching the news today, I just broke down and cried. Then my Mama’s voice surrounded me…
“In my distress, I came to Jesus… “
These words brought more tears thinking of her strong, unwavering faith, her joy in life… I put on her album and listened to her love, her heart, her faith in God. Instead of typing the words to her song, Keeper of My Soul, I recorded it on my phone for you. As you listen, may God’s peace surround you as you remember who the keeper of your soul is, too.❤️

A Plea Indeed

This post is written in an effort to remind our U.S. Senators who they actually work for and represent. The people, the people, the people!

Dear Senator Cruz and Senator Cornyn,

As our Texas representatives in the United States Senate, I would like to address concerns I have regarding the future of our United States and our beautiful state of Texas. 

As a lifelong native Texan, I love my state, I love my United States of America, and I love the freedoms, the values, and core foundations set out by our forefathers in the United States Constitution.

In my lifetime, I have voted for both democrats and republicans. I have voted based not on party but on the character and values representative of the person who is running for office. 

At this point in our nation, we are facing a crisis of a magnitude that we have never before experienced, at least in my lifetime. This crisis, to me, is a hostage standoff. A standoff that breaches every law and every value of the people. At this point, the representatives that Americans voted into office are not taking a stand to work together and resolve what is happening in Washington D.C.

I must ask, why is the Senate not paying attention to the manipulative tactics taking place in the White House today. The actions of Trump and Musk are creating a great fear within  all Americans.

Please, if you do nothing else, join together with Congress and take Musk out of our U.S. Treasury. This building and all it contains belongs to the people of the United States of America. We have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into protecting our assets and our future. And we do not want our very livelihood stolen by Musk’s manipulative schemes.

Today, rumors abound that in days to come the only people who will prosper in this country will be the government and those who are rich enough to buy their own freedom. The rest of us will become serfs who wait upon our masters.

Please, even if no other Senators from other states join together with the Congress, please stand up for the people you represent in Texas.

At this moment, Texans are fearful, Texans are afraid of losing our freedoms, losing our rights, and losing our means of sustaining our homes, our family, even our very existence. 

Allowing Musk to take over the United States Treasury is an act of treason. One that is unbecoming, unthinkable, and un-American.

Please, work with the Congress, talk with other members of the Senate, and remember, you are elected representatives of the people, for the people, and by the people — not just republicans, but all Texans. You are not there to represent a president who is most assuredly not working for the good of this country.

Please, do not dismiss my prayers for our country. I am putting my hope and faith in the integrity of our elected officials to step up and work for your constituents whether they are democrats or republicans. My prayer is that you work cooperatively for the good of the people in our USA. Please, stand by our United States Constitution, and do not allow Musk to remain as supreme commander of our United States Treasury. Remember, once an election is over, you should not think only as democrats or republicans, rather, elected officials must think as the chosen representatives of all the people in their state, in their country, and, as such, do no harm.

Lest we forget….

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

… I just read a newspaper post that  described in detail how Musk-rat would not let members of Congress into the Department of the Treasury. He barred and locked the door, and he refused to allow them to see what he had been up to with our monies and our personal, private information.

How can this russian infused maniac be so unstoppable. Why is he even allowed to be there in the first place? Is there no recourse against terrorist, because in my mind, he is acting exactly like a terrorist. He is holding our monies and our information for ransom.

I believe that if he is not stopped, if he is not removed, every bit of our USA, our America will crumble. If I do not use my right of free speech, if you do not use your right to free speech, our USA will soon become the USSR.

I, for one, stand upon the principles our country was first established upon. If the acting president and the acting governors, the congress, and the senate do not wake up and make needed changes, the USA will die. My father, my uncles, many of your family members fought to keep our country free from Hitler’s terrorism. Now, our acting president has handed Hitler the key to our country’s treasury, and who knows what else.

I request someone in the congress, or someone in the senate brave enough and willing to stand up for what is right, to do what is necessary to rectify this grave injustice being carried out against the American people. It is your responsibility to do everything in your power to save our USA.

I do not want to wake up one day and discover that everything our forefathers fought for has gone to hell.

1984 Revisited

George Orwell’s novel 1984 mirrors what is happening in our country today. It is called blindsiding, and the dump is doing a hell of a job hitting us unexpectedly with foolish distractions, so his buddy, Musk-rat, can steal every Americans’ personal information, hold funds for ransom, and destroy our country as we know it. The dump fiddles around with inane distraction in order to keep his partner in crime unseen as he robs our U.S. treasury of our personal information and our money.
This unprecedented bushwacking, attack by surprise, or catch unaware is working. The dump creates a distraction with his doublespeak, while a madman steals our social security numbers, our country’s treasury, and our futures. Read this excerpt from Orwell’s 1984, and you will feel the chills just as I felt when I read it…

“Talking to her, he realized how easy it was to present an appearance of orthodoxy while having no grasp whatever of what orthodoxy meant. In a way, the world-view of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening. By lack of understanding they remained sane. They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no residue behind, just as a grain of corn will pass undigested through the body of a bird.”

I know some of you hate that I speak up. You find it distasteful, and you ignore me. I am merely fighting for our survival in the only way I can… through the power of words. I will continue until my freedom of speech, and yours, has been limited to only being allowed to bow to the king and slobber out, Yes, my lord.

A Lovely Focus

Texas has so much to offer native Texans, as well as, those folks who travel here to discover, vacation, or seek a new homeland.

The landscape diversity within each parcel of Texas is pretty awesome. One of my passions is sharing my state, the Lone Star State, with y’all.

On this journey, we’ll mosey through the wonderful diversity of my growing up stomping grounds… East Texas!There you’ll discover the piney woods and the big thicket. Next, we’ll meander along the highways and byways to the gulf of Mexico’s vast ocean bay. Here, one can just breathe and relax as you walk along its relaxing shores. After those ocean breezes have soothed and relaxed you, you can head into town for some fabulous food and entertainment. After this, put on your cowboy boots, and we’ll amble on over to the hill country, one of my most favorite places to unwind.

I hear you asking, “Is that it?” Well, the answer to that question  is, “Nope, we’ve not yet covered even half this great state.” For now, let’s start exploring these three regions. Later on, I’ll dazzle you with even more wonders to behold deep in the heart of Texas. Here, the bright lights and big cities live in harmony with beautiful lakes, plateaus, and vast, beautiful views. Then we’ll head on up to the Panhandle. Out in the prairies and plains where the stars at night are most definitely big and bright. Texas even has its own Grand Canyon up there… a bit smaller, but still awesomely beautiful.

I know you’re thinking that we’ve got Texas covered. But if you are, you’d be wrong. We still have the Big Bend area and deep West Texas.

There’s a reason Texas was its own country once upon a time. At that point, it included a number of other states… but that’s another story for another day.

There’s so much to discover in this great state, and I’m plum happy to share my state, my Texas, my homeland with you. But for today, I’ll start now with a few pics to capture your interest. Stay tuned for my next blog. I’ll take you along on a virtual journey through the piney woods of East Texas, where my heart still belongs.
